Dr. Haiyan Woo
Licensed psychologist
Couples sessions that slow a conflict down until each of you can be heard.
Haiyan sees couples and individuals, married or not. Her sessions are structured and unhurried: she asks both of you what the argument is protecting, keeps the room fair, and sends you home with one small thing to try rather than a list.
She works from the Gottman Method and from what she sees in the room, and she is plain about what she can and cannot do in a session.

How I work
I use the Gottman Method as a map: how you start a hard conversation, how you repair afterward, and what you each need to feel safe. We practice in the room, with me as a neutral third person, and your pace sets the schedule.
Areas of focus
Conflict cycles
Slowing the same argument down so each of you can say what is underneath it.
Repair after a rupture
Learning how to start over after a fight, a silence or a breach of trust.
Shared decisions
Money, housework, family and the other choices partners make together.
Individual sessions
One-on-one sessions about the relationship, alongside couples work.
